Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information produced by a visit to Rock County Criminal History, why it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another service may receive it. By continuing to browse or use a search tool, you accept these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside company that operates the tool. That provider processes the query and supplies its response. We do not keep a separate log of the terms entered into those boxes.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email may be retained long enough to answer and manage the exchange. It stays within the operating team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.

Data We Gather Automatically

Loading a page can create routine technical records about the visit, including:

  • Page-view dates, times, and duration
  • Device type and operating system
  • Browser name and version
  • The device's assigned IP address
  • Pages viewed during the visit
  • A referring website, when one is supplied

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small device files that help measure traffic and common navigation paths. Analytics providers can combine those events into site-level reports. A browser can reject or delete cookies, though doing so may change how some functions behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route a submitted query to the selected search partner
  • Maintain site availability and performance
  • Diagnose errors and security problems
  • Measure which pages serve visitors well
  • Support advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Rock County Criminal History does not compile, host, or sell a personal criminal-record database. It publishes routing information for the Rock County Sheriff, the trial courts, the Nebraska State Patrol repository, and the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a file about another person or a consumer report. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies power the search boxes and apply their own privacy terms to submitted queries. They determine retention, processing, and disclosure practices. Review the provider's policy before sending a name or place through its tool.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to county offices, Nebraska agencies, court portals, legal resources, or search services. Once a visitor leaves this domain, the destination's policy controls. Check it before providing personal data.

An advertising company may use its own technology to measure activity across websites and select ads. That processing occurs under the advertiser's systems and terms.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:

  • A search provider that receives a query
  • Traffic and performance analytics services
  • Advertising networks serving a page
  • A government body acting under a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used for collected information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so a breach-free result cannot be promised.

Users Under 18

The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from a person under 18. A verified report that a minor supplied data will be addressed by deleting it.

Your Data Rights

Applicable law may provide additional data rights. Nebraska's Public Records Statutes, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§84-712 through 84-712.09, govern records held by public bodies, while §§29-3520 and 29-3523 govern public criminal-history dissemination. Those source-record laws do not turn this private site into a records custodian. A visitor may still:

  • Request access to personal data held about the visitor
  • Ask that inaccurate visitor information be corrected
  • Request deletion where the law permits it
  • Object to eligible forms of processing

Updates to This Policy

A revised privacy policy will be posted here and identified by a new effective date. Review this page from time to time for changes in how information is handled.
